Class of 2020, 6th Class Graduation
On Thursday 25th June, 2020 on a hot sunny afternoon, the pupils and families of 6th class pupils were invited to an unusual graduation which took
place in the school car park. They listened to the Principal, Colette Rattigan speaking about all that they had achieved on their primary school journey
and the new adventure that awaited them on transitioning to secondary school.
Justin Fahey, (Chairperson of Kilbeacanty GAA) was guest speaker and Justin spoke in particular about how fortunate each one was to able to receive their primary education in a wonderful school like Ballyturn. He also reminded them of the opportunities that were available, if they continued to work hard as they moved forward to the next chapter of their education journey.
He went on to speak about Wellbeing and the importance of looking after themselves and looking out for each other in secondary school.
The 6th class pupils were presented individually with a graduation certificate by their class teacher, Aisling Dolan. Then, John Howard, Chairperson of the Parents’ Association presented each pupil with a graduation t-shirt. This was followed by photos of each pupil and their families before everyone received a goodie bag and some much needed ice-cream to cool down.
Congratulations and well done to all our 6th class pupils. We wish you all the best in Gort Community School.
