St. Patrick's Day 2022

On Wednesday, 16th March, we dressed up in green, white and gold. We sang, danced, played music and paraded around our school. The senior room showed off their art and craft skills by parading their mini floats using remote control cars. They had great fun designing, making and demonstrating these for the whole school. Bhaineamar an-taitneamh as an lá ar fad.

Mini Medics

Friday 3rd June

Today all the pupils in our school completed a First Aid and CPR course with Mini Medics Ireland.

  • We learned how to call the emergency services

  • How to look after the patient until help arrives

  • Perform CPR

  • Use a defibrillator

  • Treat minor injuries such as cuts and burns

  • Help someone who is choking

We all received a certificate and first aid book. These are all very important skills to know – It’s good to learn that we are in safe hands with the children of St. Columba’s, Ballyturn.

School Tour 23rd June 2022

We all headed off on our school tour on Thursday 23rd of June to Bunratty castle and folk park where we got a guided tour of the castle and grounds. We then walked around ourselves getting to see what a street looked like all those years ago with the houses and schools decorated and furnished as they would have been in that time.

We then headed off to Ballymorris where we were going to try and make some pottery. Everyone really enjoyed making the pottery and they turned out very well. After all that we got on the bus and headed back to school arriving back at 4pm. Everyone had a lovely day out.
